Last month our Queensland Ambassador Sammie O’Brien organised and hosted a beautiful afternoon at Eleven Rooftop Bar in Brisbane to help raise funds and awareness for Act for Kids.

We are immensely grateful to have some truly amazing ambassadors that tirelessly work to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children. In April 2019, Sammie will be conquering the Kokoda Trek for Kids, hiking through the PNG Jungle and making an incredible difference to the lives of children who have suffered abuse or neglect.

Sammie O’Brien said her event at Eleven was just one small way she could help raise awareness about child abuse and neglect in Australia.

“The event was a great opportunity to spread the word about Act for Kids to a big group of people. Every bit helps.

“Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised over $5,000! That’s enough to give four children life-changing therapy for an entire year,” Sammie said.

Tracey Wickham, one of the 98 guests at the event, said she had a fantastic time socialising with friends, meeting new people and participating in the raffle, all the while raising vital funds for Aussie kids.

“This was my second event I have attended to support Act for Kids and I will definitely be attending more.

“The event was very well organised, and my eight friends and I had a wonderful time catching up and supporting Act for Kids too,” she said.
