Joining Act for Kids comes with a range of valuable benefits available to you and your loved ones.  Here’s what you can expect:

Salary Packaging

  • Salary packaging offers a tax-efficient opportunity for you to receive a portion of your future compensation in non-cash forms. As we are a Not-For-Profit (NFP), you can significantly reduce income tax and increase take home pay by salary packing up to $15,900 per year tax free + an additional $2,650 for meal and entertainment.  To find out more, contact Remserv.

Flexibility

  • We understand the importance of work-life balance. That’s why we offer flexible work arrangements where we can, such as flexible working hours, compressed working fortnights and hybrid working arrangements.  According to a 2023 survey, 87% of our team members currently enjoy flexible work options[1].

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family members

  • Through our EAP partner, you and your immediate family members have access to a range of free and confidential holistic wellbeing services, including counselling, legal support, nutritional guidance, financial advisory support and manager support. They also offer specialist connect lines for specific communities and monthly wellbeing webinars and tip sheets to enhance your overall wellness.

Paid Parental Leave

  • We understand and value the importance of family by offering employer funded Paid Parental Leave to support growing families. Fulltime team members with a minimum of 18 months recognised service at Act for Kids can access up to 12 weeks (456 hours) of paid parental leave to care for their newborn or newly adopted child. For Part-time team members, the entitlement is calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Wellbeing Leave

  • At Act for Kids, we recognise that our people are our greatest strength, which is why we encourage and support team members to prioritise their wellbeing through employer funded Wellbeing Leave.
  • We know that the nature of our work is emotionally demanding, and that evidence shows taking respite breaks throughout the year has an immediate effect on decreasing stress and the risk of burnout.
  • Under this initiative, 4 days (30.4 hours) of paid Wellbeing Leave will be made available each calendar year to all full-time team members with a pro-rata entitlement for part-timers.

Pet Bereavement Leave

  • Losing a pet is a heartbreaking experience for most people and the grief that follows is a very natural response to losing a much loved member of the family and side-kick in life.
  • In support of team members who find themselves in this unfortunate situation, Act for Kids now provides 1 day of paid Pet Bereavement Leave, per year.
