Katrina joined Act for Kids in 2006 and took on the role of Executive Director of Services in 2008. Katrina is a registered psychologist with almost 20 years’ experience, specifically dealing with issues relating to children and youth. She has a PhD in children’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Katrina is responsible nationally for service quality, design, implementation, evaluation and research. She is a member of a range of professional bodies and is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at James Cook University. Her strong interest, research and teaching in the area of children’s development led her to work in the child protection sector. Katrina is passionate about early intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect and believes that all children who have suffered should have access to the best possible services in order to develop to their full potential.
