Now in its fourth year, the Vita Foundation Golf Challenge has donated more than $200,000 to the Foundation’s hero charity, Act for Kids, with this year’s event raising a record $62,000 for vulnerable children across Australia.

Held on Thursday, 2 May at St Lucia Golf Links, 102 people from Vita Group and its valued partners teed off in the challenge that included competitions for longest drive, closest chip, closest to the pin and the favourite – mini-golf with kitchen utensils.

Act for Kids CEO, Dr Neil Carrington, said he is forever blown away by the continuous commitment and generosity of the Vita Foundation.

“Vita Foundation have been instrumental in the growth of our Learn to be safe with Emmy & friends program. This generous donation will go directly towards delivering the program to more schools and children nationally, to keep even more children safe.”

The $62,000 raised will go towards Act for Kids’ Learn to be safe with Emmy & friends school-based education program, which teaches grade one children to identify when they don’t feel safe and know safe adults they can turn to for help.

Since partnering with Act for Kids four years ago, the Vita Foundation has helped more than 27,000 children nationwide better protect themselves from abuse through the program.

Vita Group CEO, Maxine Horne, said she was touched by the support shown from Vita people and the group’s suppliers, of which a record number turned out to take part in the challenge.

“I’m really proud of everyone at Vita and the Vita Foundation for delivering another hugely successful fundraising event for Act for Kids,” said Maxine, who was again on hand with Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington at the Golf Challenge, garnering support and of course selling raffle tickets. “Each year gets bigger and provides an even stronger contribution to our hero charity Act for Kids to help them continue their important work in protecting and advocating for young children.”

From hosting successful golf challenges to being a major sponsor at the Act for Kids annual Gala Ball, the generosity and commitment from the Vita Foundation enables Act for Kids to deliver a service that is proven to be effective and provide positive and long-term outcomes for little Aussies around the nation.
