St Laurence’s College aims to enhance the ‘Lauries’ and broader community again in 2014 with the annual walkathon.

On Friday 8 August, over 1,500 students will complete a 15km walk through South Brisbane, West End and the Brisbane CBD in an effort to raise money for four local charities, including Act for Kids.

Principal Ian McDonald said the annual College Walkathon is a longstanding tradition for all students who have a strong sense of social justice and of helping those with the community who need support.

Last year the students raised an incredible $10,000 for Act for Kids through the annual walkathon.

Act for Kids is honoured to be one of the chosen charities and we truly appreciate the donation. The funds will help us to expand our therapy programs and create brighter futures for children suffering from abuse and neglect.

Act for Kids is an Australian not-for-profit organisation providing free professional therapy and support services to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect. For over 25 years we have helped thousands of kids, young people and their families.
