Across Queensland Act for Kids’ teams have been celebrating the festive season with kids’ parties and early Christmas gifts.

CEO of Act for Kids, Dr Neil Carrington, said the best part of his job is the day he suits up as Santa to deliver donated Christmas presents to the North Brisbane kids the organisation has helped this year.

Santa and his elves hauled many presents onto a festively decorated minibus for the Christmas delivery on Wednesday, in what has come to be an annual event at Act for Kids. Santa received some help from the Wooloowin team making his rounds to some of the special children living in North Brisbane.

Hundreds of presents were generously donated by Worley Parsons, Capitol Body Corporate Administration, FaktorTel, Gail Bubb’s dance group, LJ Hooker Bulimba, My First Room, Golden Ark Rescue, Carnival Parties, Dibbs Barker, King & Wood Mallesons, LicenSys, Reedy Creek Bambini Early Childhood Development Centre and Carley Strain.

“It’s humbling to receive so many wonderful gifts, donated by people who care about these kids that they’ve never met, and can never know.

“But it’s not too late for others to help make a difference. You can donate to our Christmas appeal to support our free intensive therapy and family support services in 2014, and put a little more meaning back into Christmas,” Dr Carrington said.
