They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but Act for Kids’ long time supporter Katrina Christ  (pictured above right) can go one better – her stunning photography has raised thousands of dollars for abused and neglected kids.

Recently, the Brisbane family photographer celebrated 20 years in business with  a fundraising event for Act for Kids at Hanworth House.

The event raised over $2,500 for vulnerable kids and families through raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Katrina has been a supporter of Act for Kids for over 15 years and  promotes us wherever she can.

“I wanted to align myself with one charity and as a family photographer, it was important to me that the charity I support was connected to helping children,” says Katrina. “I love everything that Act for Kids does and it was important that my professional network was able to learn more about the charity at this event.”

For many years Katrina has offered her photography packages as prizes at Act for Kids lunches and our annual Gala Ball. She even visits our Wooloowin centre at Christmas time to take free portraits of the children to give to their parents, grandparents or care givers.

Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington (pictured above left) spoke at the event about the work the charity does to restore little lives. “We’re so grateful to have wonderful supporters like Katrina, who go out of their way to bring awareness to our efforts,” Said Dr Carrington.

Katrina is offering discounted family portraits to anyone who mentions ‘Act for Kids’ when booking and will also be donating proceeds from these sessions to Act for Kids. So now is the perfect time to book in a session for your family and support a great cause at the same time.
