Graham Hasemann at OneSteel proudly presents his cheque to Kelly Morgan, Director of Marketing and Communications at Act for Kids
Each year, Arrium and OneSteel Australian Tube Mills hold Excellence Awards, recognising employees who have made an outstanding contribution towards workplace health and safety, while encouraging employees to support the local community through charitable giving.
Graham Hasemann, Operations Manager at OneSteel Australian Tube Mills was awarded 2013 Safety Leader of the Year. Part of the award is a $500 donation to the winners charity of choice. Graham kindly donated his $500 to Act for Kids.
Graham was then nominated for the highest level award, competing across all Arrium companies for the Arrium 2013 Safety Excellence Awards. Were pleased to announce that Graham won in his category and a further $2,000 to his charity of choice, Act for Kids.
Graham said that the awards are a great way of recognising the important role charitable organisations play within our community.
It was important for me to choose a charity that meant something to me. Most people today have a choice, but most children dont, so I see this as way of playing my part in shaping positive change for children who have been affected by abuse and difficult circumstances.
Act for Kids is honoured to be chosen by Graham and we truly appreciate the donation from Arrium and OneSteel Australian Tube Mills. On behalf of the children and families we support, we would like to say a big thank you for your commitment. With your help, we can expand our intensive therapy programs and create brighter futures for children who need our help most.
