Since 2009, Mercedes-Benz Brisbane has donated over $640,000 to Act for Kids through events, direct sponsorship and in-kind support including our Platinum Lottery prizes. Shane Parkins, Dealer Principal and his team recently visited our Wooloowin centre to speak with our therapists about their work

The company also makes a donation for every vehicle sold at its Fortitude Valley premises, and encourages staff to fundraise through charity challenges.

”Helping to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect is a cause close to our hearts and we are passionate about helping Act for Kids make a real difference,” said Shane Parkins, Dealer Principal, Mercedes-Benz Brisbane.

In November this year Mr Parkins will be taking part in a trek across New Zealand’s Southern Alps, the second Act for Kids challenge he’s participated in.

“I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries through this challenge – both physically and financially – to raise as much as I can for vulnerable kids.”

The funds raised by Mercedes-Benz Brisbane so far have gone towards providing Integrated Therapy Services in Ipswich, Gympie, Townsville and Adelaide, said Dr Neil Carrington, CEO, Act for Kids.

“Thanks to the support of Mercedes-Benz Brisbane, Act for Kids has been able to expand our free Integrated Therapy Services to even more areas of need,” said Dr Carrington.

“Their continued support means we can help more abused and neglected kids have a brighter future.”
