Below statement can be attributed to Act for Kids CEO Dr Katrina Lines:

Protecting children requires a whole-of-community approach rather than one solution to prevent child sexual abuse, which should go beyond systems and policies to include vital preventative education for children, caregivers and educators.

Act for Kids believes there is an unmet need for Australian schools to embed mandatory accredited, evidence-based protective behaviours education and training into the curriculum.

Protective behaviours programs teach kids, carers, educators, teachers and the community how to recognise, react to and report unsafe or risky situations, including grooming, so we can all help keep kids safe.

Act for Kids offers its own protective behaviours program called Learn to be Safe with Emmy and Friends.

Programs like this seek to protect children now, and we believe children are the most important voice in the current national conversation around child protection.
