Act for Kids proudly hosted the Engaging Father Figures Symposium held on 20 June and raised over $2000 for Act for Kids Flourish – Child and Family Therapy program. 77 mental health practitioners attended the Symposium which demonstrated good practice for working with men and encouraged participants to reflect on their work with families.
Key note speakers were: Richard Fletcher, author of The Dad Factor: how father-baby bonding helps a child for life, Tim Fisk from Complete Men, Gary Simpson from the Workplace Wellbeing Institute, Steve Lock from Child & Family Practice & Service Improvement, Rosemary OMalley from Gold Coast DVPC, and Simon Santosha from Men & Family Counselling and Consultancy.
