Capitol support our Sing & Grow Program Capitol Body Corporate Administration hosted the inaugural Christmas in July trivia night to benefit Act for Kids. With almost 80 people attending, the Brisbane community got into the festive spirit by donning their favourite Christmas costumes.
The event raised over $3,000 for Act for Kids, helping to fund 60 musical instruments for our new Sing & Grow Program to be used by children at our Wooloowin centre.
Sing & Grow with Act for Kids is a music therapy program designed to help disadvantaged children express themselves. It also aims to improve the childs overall motor skills, emotional development, social skills, and quality of life.
As part of the program, children will be supplied with an instrument pack to encourage the child to explore musical instruments freely at home. This will help the child and parent to establish a musical relationship and build positive interactions through music.
The program complements our existing therapeutic programs, designed to help children verbalise their feelings and experiences through art and play-based therapy.
Capitol has been supporting Act for Kids since 2007 and were truly grateful for their ongoing support.
