To start the academic year, staff from MacGregor State High School and MacGregor State School joined forces for a professional learning session.

Act for Kids chief executive officer Dr Neil Carrington presented the workshop with a focus on creating and sustaining a high performance team culture.

Dr Carrington specialises in strategic planning, performance development and executive coaching. MacGregor State High principal Liz Foster said it had been a “thought-provoking” session.

“Dr Neil Carrington presented a workshop on creating a performance culture, exploring practical and innovative leadership strategies,” Ms Foster said.

“Feedback from staff has been positive with numerous staff commenting that it has been an outstanding start to the school year.

“Having the two MacGregor schools attend provided the opportunity to build our local professional learning community together.”

All of Dr Carrington’s speaking fees go directly to Act for Kids to help children who have been abused or neglected. To date, he has donated over $2,000,000 to this worthy cause.
