Act for Kids and Communify QLD came together this morning to celebrate the official opening of the Brisbane North Intensive Family Support service.
Attended by key players from Queensland’s state government, other dignitaries and representatives from local community organisations, it was a moving ceremony and all enjoyed hearing about the tremendous work that has already taken place in the community.
The Honorable Shannon Fentiman MP, Minister for Communities, Women and Youth and Michael Hogan, Director General sent their apologies and Ms Fentiman passed along her congratulations to the Act for Kids and Communify QLD teams.
“The breadth and depth of the services we are creating together for families is truly transforming our child and family support services in Queensland. You are all part of a new and growing safety net for Queensland children and their families,” she said.
Act for Kids CEO, Dr Neil Carrington was delighted by the number of attendees that came along to support this important community service.
“It was by far our largest centre opening to date and I am thrilled to be a part of an organisation that has such wonderful supporters, both in our government and in the community,” Dr Carrington said.
