Long-time supporter Auto & General held their annual Christmas Party last month and invited Act for Kids to attend and sell raffle tickets!
Not only do Auto & General know how to throw a party, but their staff are unbelievably generous and we raised over $30,000 in one night!!
Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington says a donation of this size is enough to provide 300 hours of intensive therapy for children who have been severely abused or neglected.
Christmas can be a really tough time for children who have experienced abuse, and this kind of support means that we are able to work with more children and get them on the road to recovery much faster, Dr Carrington said.
The Grease themed bash was just one of the amazing fundraising endeavours that Auto & General pioneered in 2017.
This year, staff from Auto & General have volunteered their time and collected donations at CMC Rocks Country Music Festival, raised $70,000 at their hugely successful Golf Day and dressed up as superheroes to raise funds and awareness for our cause!
On top of this, there are countless staff giving each week through the Workplace Giving Program and many staff have taken up the opportunity to tour our Wooloowin Treatment Centre and see for themselves, the real impact their donations are making.
We absolutely love working with Auto & General and their teams across Budget Direct and Compare the Market. Their ongoing support and commitment to changing little lives is inspiring and I know we are going to achieve so much more together in 2018! Dr Carrington said.
