In 2016, Act for Kids’ longstanding partnership with Auto & General has continued to flourish with the organisation raising over $80,000 for charity and volunteering countless hours towards the success of Act for Kids events.

Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington says he is humbled by their outstanding contribution towards giving kids their childhoods back.

“This calendar year alone, Auto & General staff have contributed almost $8,000 through their Workplace Giving initiative, they’ve held golf days, donated enough to put food on the table for 62 families this Christmas, volunteered at almost all of our events and two of their staff members even joined in on the Trek for Kids and raised over $8,000 between them!” Dr Carrington said.

Their most recent act of giving was at their annual Christmas party where they invited Act for Kids along to fundraise through ticket sales, a silent auction and a raffle. The night raised over $36,000 for Act for Kids which will go a long way in helping abused and neglected children in 2017.

As if this wasn’t generous enough, one of the kind winners of a $1,000 Red Balloon voucher on the night donated this back to Act for Kids to spend on activities for our clients over the school holidays!

Auto & General’s Community Manager Gerry O’Shaughnessy says that the 2016 effort from staff to support Act for Kids has been inspirational and rewarding.

“Whether in volunteering, fundraising, hiking, playing golf or contributing their hard earned cash, our teams have demonstrated their passion & commitment to our long standing community partner Act for Kids,” Mr O’Shaughnessy said.

He says that he is truly excited about the opportunities in 2017 to continue this support which aligns so strongly with Auto & General’s purpose of providing our customers with smarter solutions to safeguard a brighter future.
