At Act for Kids, we have incredibly talented team members that go above and beyond to make a difference to the lives of the children we see.
One such team member, is Marta who is one of our sexual abuse counsellors on the Gold Coast. Marta is a talented artist and created a stunning and vibrant piece of artwork which she donated to the Flourish program at our Act for Kids Labrador centre.
Marta created the piece to be touched, understanding that children enjoy being able to touch and feel different textures.
Michelle, who works as a therapist out of the Labrador office, said her clients have been drawn to the colourful piece.
Last week one client asked if she could touch the artwork, and then commented on the various part of the painting. This client would not normally pay attention to anything for more than a minute and it was amazing to see her be so mindful of the art, Michelle said.
Thank you Marta for this beautiful edition to our Family Therapy Room, it certainly brings a smile to many faces when they see it.
