On Sunday 6 March, Act for Kids held our annual International Women’s Day Luncheon at Events on Oxlade in New Farm.
We were joined by over 120 likeminded people who shared a common vision for all children to have a safe and happy childhood.
The event was supported by major sponsors by Budget Direct (powered by Auto and General), and Prescience Technology. The event also received generous donations of raffle prizes from Artisan, ResMed, Vanilla Zulu, Triumph Australia, Zonta Brisbane, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Petals Florist Network, Deep Grey, Real Support Services and Arches Accommodation Supports. Thank you to all sponsors for your support.
Our guest speaker for the day was Olympic gold and silver medalist Brooke Hanson OAM – who literally had everyone up on their feet dancing and giggling with excitement! What an inspirational, honest, compelling and insightful story she shared! Her tips on how we could #BreaktheBias were invaluable.
The funds raised at the event will support Act for Kids’ Integrated Therapy Service – and help provide therapy to children and families who need our help.
Act for Kids are genuinely grateful to everyone that attended the event, to celebrate the women in our community, help kids to heal from trauma and #BreaktheBias.
