National child safe training | Communities of Practice | CoP Sessions

The roll out of mandatory child safety training is supporting educators to build the knowledge, skills and ability to detect abuse, escalate concerns and report. To support you to embed child safety training within your teams, the Department of Education has partnered with Act for Kids to facilitate complementary Communities of Practice (CoP) sessions for:

Supported by the Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland (ACA), Queensland Children’s Activity Network (QCAN) and Family Day Care Queensland (FDCQ), these sessions are designed by the Australian Centre for Child Protection (ACCP) at Adelaide University to unpack, support and enhance how your child safety training and resources can be meaningfully embedded within your services.

The Communities of Practice for Level 1/Foundations of Child Safety training are now available!

These 90 minute CoP sessions are facilitated by a Child Safety expert and:

  • help to access, apply and embed Child Safe practices within your service
  • are a space for targeted support and working through challenges
  • include companion resources developed by the Australian Centre for Child Protection (ACCP)
