Our impact is driven by individualised, holistic interventions designed to meet the unique needs of each child. We work closely with children who have complex child protection histories, those at risk of cumulative harm, and families navigating significant challenges. Our goal is always the same: to create safer environments, build resilience, and improve long-term outcomes.

Through more than 50 packages delivered in this period, the ISS program has provided individualised support to children and families in the Cairns, Brisbane and Rockhampton regions.
The majority of our packages focus on in-home support and family preservation, with a smaller proportion of packages seeking to achieve placement permanency or reunification.
“It is multi-faceted and it covers the family with the child at the centre and all the ecological systems and informal supports”
We deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, placement support, and family restoration services to help children feel safe and supported. Our work extends to stakeholder training and collaboration, ensuring that caregivers, educators, and professionals have the skills and knowledge to provide ongoing, high-quality support.
Every child deserves stability, safety, and the opportunity to flourish. At ISS, we are making a lasting difference—one child, one family, and one community at a time.
We were referred by Child Safety to support a Mother and 2 children.
This was an initial 4-week package which was extended to a seven-month package following significant worries that the Father was likely to be exerting coercive control over the family.
Following a stable childhood up to the age of 5, “L”’s Mum experienced loss, resulting in heavy drug use, domestic, family and community violence and the family moving into an unsafe housing situation.
Multiple referrals were made by ChS to FACC, IFS without effect. This is when we met L and their family.
Sarah* grew up being subjected to complex trauma and many harmful childhood experiences.
She was known to a number of statutory bodies and had been admitted to hospital after previous suicide attempts.
Following a move interstate we started to work with Sarah and her family.
