Understanding each child’s strengths, challenges, and support needs is key to providing the right help. Our assessment services use evidence-based tools to explore thinking, learning, communication, sensory processing, emotional development, and family strengths.
The insights gained guide tailored therapy plans and support networks, helping children and families achieve better outcomes at home, at school, and in the community.
We understand sometimes timing is everything, so our ISS and ITS teams work together to provide timely, evidence-based assessments for children and families experiencing vulnerability or risk.
We provide:
WISC-V
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (5th Edition)
The WISC-V is a comprehensive assessment that measures how children aged 6 to 16 years think, reason, remember, and process information. It provides a detailed picture of cognitive strengths and challenges across areas like verbal understanding, problem-solving, working memory, and processing speed. This information helps guide learning support, identify giftedness or specific learning needs, and shape individualised intervention plans.
WPPSI-IV
Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (4th Edition)
The WPPSI-IV is designed for younger children aged 2 years 6 months to 7 years 7 months. It explores how children reason, communicate, and learn through play-based tasks and structured activities. The results provide valuable insights into early cognitive development and help identify areas where extra learning support may be needed before school.
The WPPSI-IV can be used to identify intellectual disabilities and specific learning disabilities to inform intervention strategies and identify support needs.
CELF-5
Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals (5th Edition)
This assessment assesses how children and young people aged 5 to 21 years understand and use language. It looks at speaking, listening, comprehension, reading, and written expression to identify communication strengths and any areas of difficulty.
Results from the CELF-5 help inform therapy goals, classroom strategies, and family supports that encourage confident communication and learning.
SP-2
Sensory Profile-2
The SP-2 helps families understand how children aged 0 to 14 years respond to sights, sounds, textures, movement, and other sensory experiences. It gathers insights from parents and educators to explore how sensory processing influences behaviour, attention, and relationships across settings. The results support strategies that improve regulation and participation in daily life.
SPM-2
Sensory Profile Measure-2
The SPM-2 assesses sensory processing and motor planning for children and adolescents aged 0 to 21 years. It considers how sensory experiences affect emotional regulation, social skills, and engagement at home, school, and in the community. The findings guide tailored interventions that support comfort, focus, and confidence in different environments.
AIM
Under 12s
This trauma-informed model is used for children under 12 years who display harmful sexual behaviours. It considers five key areas: sexual, non-sexual, developmental, family/environmental, and self-regulation. Throuhg this we can understand behaviour in context and identify underlying needs. The assessment guides safe, supportive intervention and helps families and professionals plan next steps for recovery and wellbeing.
AIM-3
Adolescent
For adolescents, the AIM-3 expands on the same framework to include the influence of technology and online activity. It provides a balanced understanding of the young person’s experiences, strengths, and risks, helping to guide safety planning, therapy, and education pathways that promote positive change.
CASP-R Assessment
Capacity and Ability to Supervise and Protect – Risk Framework
The CASP-R is an evidence-based tool that helps assess a caregiver’s ability to supervise and protect children from harm, including risks related to harmful sexual behaviour, sexual abuse, or family violence. It explores four areas: internal capacity, insight, parenting capacity, and coping capacity. Through this we identify strengths and areas where extra support may help. The results guide safety planning and family interventions that build protective capacity and stability.
We offer a range of specialised assessments designed to understand and support each child’s unique needs. Availability can vary depending on location and clinical capacity, and additional assessments may also be offered where appropriate.
