I have full conviction of the good work that Act for Kids is doing, and am a supporter for life
I have been volunteering for Act for Kids since 2001. In that time I’ve been involved in maintenance and clean up days, driving the bus, gardening, helping at the Gala Ball, providing support at a whole range of events and appeals, selling raffle tickets and pins, and providing admin support. I have also personally fundraised for Act for Kids by hosting morning teas and Melbourne Cup days at my house and participated in the Bridge to Brisbane, to name a few things.
Through my volunteering I was inspired to ask my workplace Qantas if they would consider selling merchandise at the terminal to raise funds for Act for Kids. They agreed to and ever since, Qantas staff have been supporting Act for Kids through volunteering and fundraising.
I first heard about Act for Kids, way back when it was called the Abused Child Trust. I was so shocked to hear that the world needed something like this. I did a bit of research and thought I need to volunteer or do something to help these poor kids. I have full conviction of the good work that Act for Kids is doing, am a supporter for life and will continue to volunteer for as long as I can.
