Leanne joined Act for Kids as Chief Financial Officer in 2008, bringing with her almost 20 years’ experience as a senior finance executive. Leanne is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting).
Prior to working at Act for Kids, Leanne worked in various not-for-profit organisations, including credit unions and charities. She also has extensive experience working in public practice and commercial enterprises.
As Chief Financial Officer, Leanne is responsible for the development of strategies and recommendations for financial strength and sustainability, as well as overseeing accounting and financial operations, internal control and compliance and risk management across the organisation.
Leanne has worked extensively on numerous projects across the organisation, including supporting the team in developing and implementing initiatives that help improve the lives of Australian kids and families. She played a lead role in project managing the funding and construction of the Act for Kids Child and Family Centre of Excellence in North Queensland.
Most recently, Leanne lead the development of our new social enterprise, with the goal to develop new sources of funding to help Act for Kids grow and expand our services into new regions.
Leanne has a strong passion for working with organisations that help improve the lives of others. Leanne is also a Non-Executive Director of a large disability service provider, Aruma (formerly House with No Steps) and of Roses in the Ocean, Australia’s leading lived experience of suicide organisation.
