Julie joined Act for Kids in 2015 as the Program Manager for the Townsville Intensive Family Support Service, and remained in this position until she was appointed to the role of Director of Family Support Services in 2022. In this role, Julie oversees the Intensive Family Support Services and Pathways to Early Development programs.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and a Masters in Human Resource Management. Her primary work experience has been within the child protection sector, having worked across various roles within the statutory and non-statutory child protection system over her 20 year career. Julie has a strong understanding of the impacts that abuse and neglect can have on children’s wellbeing.
Julie has a strong focus on implementing evidence-informed practice across her programs, and is passionate about supporting her team to work collaboratively with families with the hope that children are able to remain safely in the home.
