Gary is an MSc Registered Psychologist, and holds a Diploma in Business Management. He has held senior leadership roles in hospital and health services, social services and humanitarian aid agencies for over 30 years and in five countries.
Prior to joining Act for Kids in May 2015, Gary was CEO of RASNZ (the refugee health agency at the National Refugee Centre in Auckland, New Zealand) for nine years. Gary also represented the Refugee Council of New Zealand at the UNHCR forum in Geneva. Before this, Gary led a team developing health and hospital services for an international aid agency inside Afghanistan.
In his role with Act for Kids Gary aims to achieve “ever better outcomes for the children and families we exist and work to serve, through smart programs and services, and new initiatives that work, are well funded and supported by the communities.”
