Flourish_Logo (2)

Flourish – Child and Family Therapy provides counselling for children, young people and their families who have experienced trauma or who are at risk of harm. Community referrals accepted. The program is privately funded program providing therapeutic service for children, adolescents, their families and/or carers who are concerned about the well-being of their children. Our service is free of charge. Counselling can range from as little as three sessions, up to three months. The amount of time will depend on what concerns your child presents with, for example; family situation, regular attendance, and other factors.

How we help

Flourish Family Therapy provide evidence based psychological therapy, to address:

  • mood changes
  • behavioural changes
  • sleep difficulties
  • school difficulties
  • family stress
  • symptoms of trauma, abuse and neglect.

Evidence-based therapies used include:

  • Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour therapy (DBT) skills
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • We adopt a trauma-focused approach.

We do not have a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Every person we work with can expect support plans to help them reach their own goals.

Flourish – Education is a school based counselling service provided by Act for Kids and funded by government
