On 24 June 2015, MyTime for Grandparents held a morning tea fundraiser at Pure Land Learning College Association in Toowoomba to raise funds for Act for Kids. The morning tea was supported by Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor, Cr Paul Antonio. There were plenty of giveaways with lots of raffle prizes, raising over $750 for Act for Kids.

MyTime for Grandparents is a national network of peer support groups for grandparents and kinship carers who are the full-time carers of their grandchildren, aged up to 18 years old. The support group is an opportunity for carers to come together every few weeks to discuss issues that affect their lives, support one another, share ideas and learn more about local services.

Act for Kids Fundraising Manager, Ellen Park, said it was lovely to see Act for Kids so strongly supported by MyTime for Grandparents in the local Toowoomba community.

“Thank you to MyTime for Grandparents, all the volunteers and local businesses for putting together such a wonderful day. The funds will be useful in continuing to provide support to kids and families in need,” Ellen Park said.
