Act for Kids has recently been awarded a grant of $9,750 from the Gold Coast Community Fund to help fund various clinical assessment tools to be used by our team of therapists on the Gold Coast.

Children who have been exposed to trauma at a young age can have significant emotional, social, cognitive and physical developmental delays.

The clinical assessment tools will be used to evaluate a child’s behaviour and social-emotional health to facilitate learning and development of children’s language, motor, self-help and early academic skills.

Dr Kaye Pickering, Regional Director at Act for Kids said the Gold Coast Community Fund has generously donated over $15,000 to Act for Kids over the last ten years.

“These tools will increase our service delivery to children and families within the Gold Coast region affected by child abuse and neglect, and will help to ensure that these kids are school ready and set up for educational success,” Dr Pickering said.

In the last year, Act for Kids Gold Coast serviced 2,548 people through our Referral for Active Intervention and Intensive Family Support Services.
