The Act for Kids Board has appointed Dr Katrina Lines as the new CEO of Act of Kids, following an extensive executive search process.

Dr Lines, a registered psychologist and child protection advocate, is currently Act for Kids’ Executive Director of Services. She is also a Board Director of Protect All Children Today (PACT) and involved in numerous national taskforces advocating for the rights of children.

Board Chair, Hon. Dr David Hamill AM welcomed the decision of the Board and congratulated Dr Lines on her appointment.

“Katrina is an outstanding leader and will bring enormous operational and professional experience to the role”, Dr Hamill said.

“She is widely respected by her peers and throughout the child protection community.

“Her appointment will bring stability and a reaffirmation of purpose to Act for Kids as we continue to provide vital services to abused and neglected children and their families, especially at this time when COVID-19 is generating higher levels of economic and social stress in the community.

“Dr Lines works closely with our current CEO, Dr Neil Carrington, and she will take up her new role upon his retirement from Act for Kids at the end of August.”

Dr Hamill said that Dr Lines was selected following an extensive executive search, which attracted a strong field of candidates across corporate, not for profit and child protection sectors from across the nation.
