No sign of Willy Wonka, but the Brolga Theatre certainly was Fraser Coasts own chocolate factory at the Death by Chocolate fundraising event this July.
More than 130 people attended the black tie event to dine on decadent chocolate creations while raising money for Act for Kids.
With door prizes, eight specially created chocolate dishes and a chocolate fountain there was no shortage of sugary treats for the guests. Organiser Les Alberts says the event raised over $2,500 for Act for Kids and hes keen to beat this amount next year.
Were hoping to make this an annual event after getting such fantastic word of mouth this year, Les said. We loved hearing Stacy Leigh Costin speak on behalf of Act for Kids, it was great for the guests to learn more about the cause and get a cuddle and a picture with Emmy as well!
Eight local restaurants served mouth-watering chocolate creations, the Peoples Choice on the night was a chocolate spoon, saucer and cup filled with coffee mousse created by Alli Duggan (pictured above) owner of Allikats on Kent café.
A massive thanks to the Brolga Theatre for organising such a sweet event!
