It sure was a sight to see at the Broncos Leagues Club last month, as over 150 trivia fanatics wearing their most outrageous sports carnival themed attire gave it their all to win the fifth annual Capitol Trivia Night!

This year, with the generosity of everyone who attended, the night raised an incredible $21,339.40 which will go directly back to Act for Kids to help some of Australia’s most vulnerable children get the life-changing therapy they need to overcome their trauma.

Ashley Wood, Director of People and Communities at Capitol, said the annual event is valued at Capitol because they are able to raise funds knowing they are making a real difference.

“We can see where the money actually goes to support children in need, not only in cities but also in regional and remote communities,” she said.

“When our Director Josephine D’Arcy’s daughters were at high school, they had to support a charity and one of them chose the then Abused Child Trust. As such, Capitol then took on their chosen charity and has continued to support Act for Kids.

“Because we are raising funds knowing we are making a difference, it brings our team together for a great night and helps create a sense of community in our offices whilst raising funds for Act for Kids,” Mrs Wood said.

For those whose trivia team missed out on a prize, the raffle offered many other amazing prizes, including ocean view accommodation at AVANI Broadbeach, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, 6 tickets to the Brisbane Roar vs Phoenix game and more!

The Act for Kids table, otherwise known as the ‘Pink Panthers’, missed out on a prize by only 1 point, placing fourth at the end of the night.

Congratulations to Prime Movers and Shakers who won this years’ Capitol Trivia Night… But there’s always next year for Act for Kids!
