Brisbane’s principals unite for Act for Kids

29 August 2014

Brisbane’s top real estate principals recently put aside their competitive differences for a morning to learn how they can help make a difference to the lives of abused and neglected children in Australia.

The breakfast event was held in Paddington on 22 August by James Lilly from Auto & General and Lillybuild. Act for Kids Ambassador and Channel Seven Presenter, Kay McGrath, and Act for Kids CEO, Dr Neil Carrington, were asked to speak about the work Act for Kids does in helping to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect across Australia.

The breakfast served to highlight the issue of child abuse and ways local businesses can help get involved. CEO of Auto & General, Ram Kangatharan, mentioned how supporting Act for Kids has helped empower his staff of nearly 1,000 through team building and fundraising initiatives.

Auto & General staff hold various fundraising challenges and team building activities throughout the year. Last year, they donated over $80,000 to Act for Kids through company and staff contributions. James Lilley, Director of Lilleybuild, will also be donating $1,000 from every dwelling it sells towards Act for Kids.
