Its been an incredibly busy month with not one but two Charity Balls on behalf of Act for Kids being held to raise funds for abused and neglected kids!
The Civil Contractors Federation Queenslands Arabian Nights Charity Ball was a spectacular evening with performances from fire dancers and belly dancers but best of all raised over $8,000 in the Act for Kids raffle.
CEO of Act for Kids, Dr Neil Carrington spoke alongside founder of Bravehearts, Hetty Johnston to share with attendees the importance of the work both charities are doing to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect.
Then it was down to Sydney for the Subway and IPCA Queen of Hearts Charity Ball! Act for Kids Ambassador and 7 News Presenter Angie Asimus did a fantastic job of MCing the evening while auctioneer Andrew Morello had attendees digging deep for kids. He even managed to sell 2 packs of Monster Crayons for $10,000!
Overall, the night raised almost $120,000 for Act for Kids which will go a long way to giving vulnerable children their childhoods back.
Dr Neil Carrington spoke on the night and said he was left speechless by the generosity of those in the room.
To have so many people there, who had only just learnt about who we are and what we do, and to have them open their hearts and their wallets to our cause it was just incredible, he said.
We had the opportunity to connect with so many outstanding brands and organisations and I am so looking forward to continuing this important partnership with not only Subway but with everyone we met that evening.
