A major supporter of Act for Kids, insurance provider Auto & General recently raised $70,000 to help vulnerable kids at their annual charity Golf Day. The golf day was held at The Brisbane Golf Club on the 4th April and had over 80 players and 23 business partners participate.

Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington said this contribution will go a long way in helping vulnerable kids get their childhoods back.

“A contribution of this size could provide 700 hours of intensive therapy for children that have been abused or neglected or see 1,400 grade one students learn how to  keep themselves safe,” Dr Carrington said.

Gerry O’Shaughnessy, Community Manager at Auto & General said the support for the golf day from the Auto & General business partners was outstanding.

“We had 23 partners invest in, sponsor and participate on the day. Their support is helping us make a difference in our community and in this case Act for Kids are the beneficiaries of a great community effort,” Mr O’Shaughnessy said.

“Our community goal of safeguarding a brighter future for our customers, our people and our business by making a difference in our community came to life last week. The combined effort of our Auto & General volunteer staff and business partners helped raise $70,000 which was donated to Act for Kids, was a wonderful effort from all”
