Last month, long-time supporter Auto & General held their annual Christmas Party and invited Act for Kids to attend and sell raffle tickets!

Not only do Auto & General know how to throw a party, but with their unbelievably generous staff, we raised over $41,000 in one night!!

Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington says a donation of this size is enough to provide 410 hours of life-changing intensive therapy for children who have been severely abused or neglected.

“Christmas can be a really tough time for children who have experienced abuse, and this kind of support means that we are able to work with more children and get them on the road to recovery much faster,” Dr Carrington said.

Auto & General Community Manager Gerry O’Shaughnessy said the Fire and Ice themed bash was just one of the fundraising endeavours that Auto & General put together in 2018.

“The team at Auto & General care passionately about both our own direct families and those in our community. Over the past nine years we have formed a bond with the Act for Kids team and the passion to assist grows stronger every year,” he said.

“Whether it’s staff volunteering at events, running fundraising at work, workplace giving, visiting the Act for Kids therapy centres, or helping to run events with our business partners – the want to help clearly shines through.

“At Auto & General’s end of year party last weekend, we saw our staff’s partner costs of $26,000 donated to Act for Kids along with the proceeds of our charity raffle totaling some $41,000. We look forward to helping Act for Kids into 2019,” Gerry said.
