We are incredibly excited and humbled to announce that Act for Kids has won Gold in the recent Human Resource Director (HRD) Employer of Choice Awards and been recognised as a top-performing company in the Leadership, Work-Life Balance, and Health and Wellbeing categories.

Act for Kids CEO, Dr Neil Carrington, said he is exceptionally proud to have won Gold for Employer of Choice with 100-499 Employees across all industries and sectors by HRD magazine – the top award for that category.

“It’s amazing to be publicly validated by our employees, and testament to the awesome work our leadership team and all team members across the organisation do to make our people feel valued and proud to work here,” Dr Carrington said.

The HRD Magazine Employer of Choice survey asked Act for Kids employees about key areas that are critical to feeling engaged at work. As explained in the HRD Employer of Choice Special Report, the survey results provide key insights into the areas that employees value, the disparity that can exist between their views and what employees themselves may value, and how that gap can subsequently be closed.

With over 191 companies and close to 3,000 employees taking part in the survey, 78 companies within the 100-499 Employee bracket were in the running to win the title of ‘2019 Employer of Choice’. Competing companies were from industries such as universities, motor, health, technology, construction, financial and legal services, and hospitality, just to name a few.

Act for Kids is a workplace that offers a diversity of careers. From providing residential care for children in remote communities in the remotest parts of Far North Queensland, early intervention case management of families, providing therapy services to children who have been abused and neglected, to roles that support the wonderful work our practitioners do with kids and families. Act for kids are a culturally safe and supportive employer who values diversity in the workplace and cultural competency in our practice. We believe in leading through our values and are committed to making Act for Kids a great place to work.
