Previous Act for Kids board member and distinguished author Madonna King has released her latest book this week called ‘Being 14 – Helping Fierce Teens become Awesome Women.’

Madonna has spent the last year seeking the views of 200 14-year-old girls, then dozens of successful school principals, teachers, counsellors, CEO’s parenting experts, police and teen psychologists. It aims to give a voice to our 14-year-old girls and outlines their challenges as well as what they want their parents to know. It also acts as a parental guide for parents raising a teenage daughter.

Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington has highly endorsed Madonna’s latest literary work and only wishes it had come out earlier!

“As a father to two daughters, I can really appreciate the kind of insights and knowledge that Madonna has captured and included in this book. Often teenagers don’t always feel comfortable to talk about how they’re feeling or what’s going on in their world, so to have this resource full of real stories and glimpses into their worries and concerns is wonderful not only for parents, but also for teachers, counsellors and psychologists,” Dr Carrington says.

‘Being 14’ has already been the number one best seller on eBooks which is proof that parents and educators are searching for this kind of information!
