Act for Kids are delighted to have been awarded a Community Grant for $10,000 from the Commonwealth Bank Southport. This generous funding will go towards the Flourish Child and Family Therapy program which provides counselling for children, young people and their families who have experienced trauma or are at risk of harm.

IMG_2616 (2) edit Aaron Powdrell from the Commonwealth Bank Southport branch presented the cheque to Act for Kids psychologist Michelle Pittaway who facilitates the Flourish program. “I can see that Act for Kids has a great passion for the work they do with traumatised children and are making a huge difference within the community,” he said.

The Community Grants are funded by Commonwealth Bank staff who regularly donate to a Community Fund. Their generosity allows them to assist thousands of Australian children each year.

Act for Kids Gold Coast Regional Director Gary Poole is incredibly grateful for the contribution. “This vital support is directly helping heal some of the most traumatised children from the Gold Coast who have been severely impacted by abuse and affected by family violence.”

“Without the help of the Commonwealth Bank, these children would not have had access to the specialist trauma services that are making a difference in their lives.” Gary says.
